| Penuche Frosting
1/2 cup of butter 1 tightly packed cup of dark brown sugar 1/8 teaspoon of salt 2 tablespoons of light corn syrup 1/4 cup of milk 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract 2 cups of confectioners sugar 1/4 cup of light cream |

In a saucepan, melt the butter over a very low heat. Slowly stir in the brown sugar, salt, milk and corn syrup. Raise the heat and bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and let it cool, then stir in the vanilla, confectioner's sugar, cream and beat until the frosting is thick enough to spread. |
