Jewish Apple Cake

4 apples, peeled and sliced
4 teaspoons of cinnamon
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of flour
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1 cup of oil
4 teaspoons of vanilla
4 eggs
1 cup of chopped nuts

In medium bowl, combine apples with cinnamon, 1/4 cup of the sugar and nuts. In large bowl mix remaining ingredients until batter is smooth. Grease 10 inch tube pan. Pour small amount of batter into pan. Place layer of apples and nuts on top. Continue layering ending with batter. Bake at 350ºF. for 1 1/2 hours. Test with toothpick until batter is dry. Cool in pan 30 minutes.
