In a food processor mix flours, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add dates and orange peel. Add butter and pulse until mealy. Dump all into a bowl and add sour cream and milk that has been mixed together. Mix gently but quickly until batter is moistened. Dump onto a floured board and knead about 20 times until mixture is smooth and cohesive. Roll out to about 3/4" thick and cut into 2" squares. Brush tops with milk or egg wash and bake at 400ºF. for about 15 minutes. |
