Beat egg whites stiff, not dry. Beat yolks until lemon colored. Add all ingredients except egg whites. Mix with spoon until well blended. Fold in egg whites. Sourdough Waffles
1/2 cup of sourdough starter 2 cups of milk 2 cups of flour 2 eggs Dash of sugar 1/3 cup of oil 1 teaspoon of soda
Mix sourdough starter, milk, and flour in the evening and store overnight in a warm place. In the a.m., take out 1/2 cup starter for next time. (Starter stores indefinitely in refrigerator.) Mix all other ingredients and cook on hot greased griddle. Sourdough Waffles
1/2 cup of sourdough starter 1 cup of canned milk 1 cup of warm water 2 eggs 1 3/4 to 2 cups of flour 2 tablespoons of sugar 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of soda 1/3 cup of oil
Combine starter, milk, water and flour. Mix and leave at room temperature overnight. Next day add rest of ingredients. Mix gently, do no beat. Bake in hot waffle iron. Makes 3 large square waffles. |
