Blue Cheese Bread

1 cup of milk
1 egg
1 tablespoon of unsalted butter or canola oil
1/2 to 1 cup of crumbled blue cheese to taste
1 1/2 cups of unbleached all purpose flour
1 cup of whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons of nonfat dry milk
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon of white pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons of active dry yeast 

Pour the milk into your baking pan, break in the egg, and add the butter or canola oil and the blue cheese. Then measure in the all purpose and whole wheat flours, the dry milk, sugar, salt, pepper, and yeast. If the instructions for your bread machine call for putting in the yeast in the pan first, follow it with the dry ingredients before adding the milk, egg, butter and cheese. Bake on full cycle, using a light setting, if available, for a golden, not too dark crust.
